Alessi — Il Conico 90017 | Aldo Rossi stainless steel kettle

There is something radically architectural about the way Il Conico occupies space on the stovetop. Its form — an inverted cone that engages with an oblique handle, almost like a pencil quotation on a drawing sheet — is never merely functional: it is a statement. The 18/10 stainless steel produces a surface that captures the kitchen light and silently transforms it into presence. Not a kettle that disappears into everyday use, but one that inhabits it. Il Conico was created in 1986 by Aldo Rossi, one of the most influential Milanese architects of the 20th century, a theorist of the city and urban memory, and the 1990 Pritzker Prize winner. Designed for Officina Alessi — the research laboratory where the boundary between design and applied art is systematically ignored — this kettle is a faithful translation of Rossi's visual language: pure geometries, references to European building traditions, and a formal melancholy that never slips into sentimentality. Il Conico is, in miniature, the same poetic vision as his architecture. At Stilmobili, we selected it because it represents exactly what we believe in: objects that do not age, that gain meaning over the years, that tell something about those who choose them. It is ideal for those who love design with a biography, for those who furnish with intention and want the kitchen to participate in a coherent aesthetic vision as well. A substantial gift for a housewarming, an anniversary, or simply for oneself. Project notes: Capacity 2 liters. Magnetic steel base compatible with induction cooking, as well as all other cooktops. Diameter 22 cm, height 22 cm. Officina Alessi Collection.
