Patricia Urquiola designed this jar for Alessi, the Piedmont-based workshop founded in 1921 that for over a century has transformed tableware and kitchen objects into small manifestos of applied design. The fluid lines of the raised decoration on the lid are not ornament for ornament's sake: they engage with the cylindrical shape of the glass body, creating a balance that adds dynamism even when the jar is simply sitting on the kitchen shelf.
