Alessi — JW02/CONT | Jakob Wagner bottle container

There is an almost sculptural quality in the way this bottle holder takes possession of its space. Its lines, drawn with formal rigor and yet with a certain lightness of spirit, transform a utility object into a fully-fledged furnishing element. Thermoplastic resin - a material capable of producing continuous surfaces, without joints or interruptions - becomes, in the right hands, a living material, capable of interacting with the light and with the other objects it houses. Within its compact dimensions, just under twenty-seven centimeters wide and twenty-four high, a miniature architecture comes to life. Jakob Wagner, a Danish designer who made his home at the heart of the European design scene, has been one of the most rigorous and perceptive voices in contemporary design for years. His research constantly moves along the boundary between the function and poetry of objects, between the Nordic tradition of essentiality and the Mediterranean vocation to treat objects as cultural gestures. In his work with Alessi - the Crusinallo manufacturer that has been transforming industrial production into material culture for decades - this balance finds one of its fullest expressions. At Stilmobili, we chose the JW02/CONT because it perfectly embodies the vision that guides us: that of a small object that makes a difference. It is designed for those who furnish a kitchen or living area with the same care they use when choosing a sofa or a work of art. For those who know that keeping a bottle of wine or oil organized can become, with the right piece, an act of style. Project notes: thermoplastic resin structure, dimensions 27 × 18 × 24 cm. Spring/summer collection. Design by Jakob Wagner for Alessi.
