Alessi — La Conica 90002/3 | Aldo Rossi espresso coffee maker, 3 cups

There is something inevitable about La Conica's form: the perfect cone, the mirror-like surface of the 18/10 stainless steel, the copper base that reveals a craftsman's vocation beneath the geometric rigor. It is an object that does not hide on the stovetop - it inhabits it, transforming it into a fragment of domestic architecture. Three cups, a capacity of 15 centiliters, and a presence worth far more than the sum of its components. Aldo Rossi designed it in 1984 for Officina Alessi, at a time when the great Milanese architect was redefining the boundaries between architectural design and object design. La Conica emerged from the same grammar that guided his buildings: primary forms, collective memory, a luminous melancholy that transforms the everyday into something eternal. It was one of the founding pieces of Officina Alessi, the experimental laboratory that Francesco Alessi had launched to bring leading figures of international architecture to rethink tableware. The coffee maker immediately became a manifesto: not only of Italian design in the 1980s, but of a different way of understanding the coffee ritual. We at Stilmobili chose it because it embodies exactly what we believe in: functional beauty that does not age, a piece that engages with a contemporary interior without ever yielding to fashion. It is ideal for those who understand the value of a signed design, those looking for a meaningful gift, and those who want every morning to take the right shape.
