Alessi — La Cupola 9095/6 9095/6BFM | Aldo Rossi aluminum coffee maker

There is something immediately recognizable about the silhouette of *La Cupola*: that hemispherical top rising above the body of the coffee maker like a small piece of urban architecture, as if a fragment of a city had been distilled into cast aluminum and placed over the morning flame. The cast aluminum conveys a dense, almost tactile surface that ages gracefully in the hands of those who use it. The black polyamide handle and knob provide the right color contrast - restrained, essential - while the magnetic steel base also makes *La Cupola* suitable for induction cooktops, without betraying anything of its original nature. Aldo Rossi - architect, theorist, 1990 Pritzker Prize winner - designed *La Cupola* for Alessi at a time when, for him, the boundary between domestic object and poetic manifesto was completely irrelevant. As in his architecture, the language here is one of collective memory: the dome is a primary, archetypal form, capable of simultaneously evoking the sacred and the everyday. Rossi began working with Alessi in the 1980s, and this coffee maker remains one of the most accomplished results of that collaboration - a piece belonging as much to the history of Italian design as to the ritual of breakfast. At Stilmobili, we chose *La Cupola* because it perfectly embodies what we look for in the objects we bring into our collection: a form that needs no explanation, intended for those who consider the kitchen a designed space just as much as the living room. It is the ideal gift for an architecture enthusiast, for those who live consciously, and for anyone who wants even their morning coffee to have a story to tell. Project notes: capacity 30 cl, diameter 10 cm, height 28.5 cm. Cast aluminum body, induction-compatible. Designer Aldo Rossi. Permanent Alessi collection.
