Alessi — Mattina BG04 BG04 DG | Dark gray porcelain butter dish

There is something deliberately quiet about Mattina. The white porcelain body, smooth and compact like an archetypal form, meets the 18/10 stainless steel lid coated with epoxy resin in a deep anthracite grey - a color that does not seek attention, but gets it. The gesture of lifting that lid, cool and precise beneath the fingers, is already a small ritual. The form is essential, almost anonymous in the noblest sense of the term: it does not impose itself on the table; it brings order to it. Mattina was created by BIG-GAME, the studio founded in 2004 by Augustin Scott de Martinville, Elric Petit, and Grégoire Jeanmonod - three designers trained between Lausanne and London, capable of an approach that blends conceptual rigor with understated irony. With Alessi, BIG-GAME has repeatedly explored the realm of everyday objects reinterpreted with subtle estrangement: taking something familiar and returning it slightly different, more self-aware. The Mattina butter dish belongs to this lineage. The name itself is a statement: not an object to display, but one to use every day, at the simplest and most necessary moment. At Stilmobili, we chose Mattina because it embodies exactly the tension we seek in design objects: the ability to be functional without giving up poetry. It is designed for those who carefully set their table, choosing each element as one chooses a word in a well-written sentence. It pairs naturally with neutral ceramic breakfast sets, but also stands beautifully on its own on a rough linen tablecloth. Project notes: dimensions 21 × 9.5 × 7 cm, porcelain body, 18/10 stainless steel lid with a dark grey epoxy resin finish. Alessi collection, autumn/winter assortment.
