Alessi — Mattina BG04 R | Porcelain and steel butter dish, red

There is something deeply domestic yet surprising about the Mattina butter dish: the smooth, quiet white porcelain body meets the 18/10 stainless steel lid lacquered in a vivid red, lively like a spring morning already filled with light. The contrast between the matte materiality of the ceramic and the metal surface colored with epoxy resin is not merely aesthetic - it is almost a story: the quiet of a set table and the promise of awakening. Mattina was created by the BIG-GAME collective, a design studio founded in Lausanne by Augustin Scott de Martinville, Elric Petit, and Grégoire Jeanmonod. Their approach is known for a formal simplicity that never sacrifices personality: objects that seem obvious until you hold them, at which point they reveal all their intelligence. In this butter dish, the simplicity of the elongated silhouette - 21 cm long, with proportions calibrated to accommodate a whole stick of butter - is the result of precise choices, not a lack of thought. We at Stilmobili chose it because it embodies exactly what we look for: an object that transforms an everyday gesture into a small ritual of style. It is ideal for those who set the table with the same care they devote to the other rooms in the home, and for those who refuse to compromise on quality even in seemingly minor accessories. The red version is perfect as a splash of color in a neutral table setting, or as a gift with a bold character. Project notes: white porcelain body, 18/10 stainless steel lid with a red epoxy resin finish. Dimensions: 21 × 9.5 × 7 cm. Alessi collection, spring/summer program.
