Alessi — Maya 7320/20 | Round polished stainless steel basket

There is something hypnotic about Maya's surface: a mirror-polished 18/10 stainless steel disk, twenty centimeters in diameter and seven and a half centimeters deep, which captures light and returns it transformed. The form is essential, almost archetypal - a perfect circle that opens upward with uncompromising geometry. Holding it in your hands means coming face to face with the reassuring weight of noble metal, with a finish that reflects the surrounding environment like a still pond. Giulio Confalonieri designed this basket with the discretion typical of great Milanese designers. A long-standing designer and graphic artist, Confalonieri gradually built a profound dialogue with Alessi, founded on the ability to find the right tension between function and poetry. Maya belongs to the historic Alessi collection and embodies that vocation for rigorous simplicity which made the Fabbrica del Vapore in Crusinallo a global reference in tableware and home design. At Stilmobili, we chose Maya because it perfectly represents that category of objects that never cease to be necessary. It is the basket on the dining table, the centerpiece that holds fruit or correspondence, the detail on the work surface that transforms an everyday gesture into a moment of aesthetic awareness. It is aimed at those who consider furnishing not an operation of filling spaces, but a silent declaration of taste. Project notes: 18/10 stainless steel, polished finish. Diameter 20 cm, height 7.5 cm. Weight 500 g. Alessi spring/summer palimpsest collection.
