Alessi — MP0215 2 | Sottsass maple wood pepper mill

There is something deeply sensory about turning a wooden pepper mill: the dull sound of the rotation, the fragrance released into the air, the warm, natural texture beneath your fingers. Alessi's MP0215 2 set translates this everyday gesture into a small domestic ritual, thanks to turned maple bodies with a compact, luminous grain. The green that brightens the natural wood is not a decorative concession, but a deliberate choice: color as identity, as a visible signature on an object that occupies the center of the table. The design bears the signature of Ettore Sottsass, a monumental figure in Italian design and founder of Memphis, the movement that disrupted every formal and chromatic convention in furnishings during the 1980s. Sottsass had the rare gift of instilling character even in the most understated objects, finding poetic tension in the most ordinary aspects of everyday life. Even in this tableware set, his hand can be recognized in the balance between geometric proportions — 25.5 cm in height, 7 cm in diameter — and chromatic vitality, in a dialogue between natural material and color that is an unmistakable hallmark of his creative universe. We at Stilmobili chose it because it perfectly embodies what we look for in the tables of our customers: objects with a story to tell, a creator to remember, and a presence that goes beyond function. It is designed for those who love setting the table with care, who consider the kitchen and dining room spaces of culture as well as conviviality. An ideal gift for design collectors or simply for anyone who wants to bring the signature of a master to the table. Project notes: Natural and green maple wood, height 25.5 cm, diameter 7 cm.
