Alessi — MT01 B | La Stanza dello Scirocco, black wastebasket

There is something ancient yet utterly modern in the form of this wastebasket: a flat, almost meditative presence that recalls the geometries of ornamental Mediterranean grilles. Made of steel coated with black epoxy resin, *La Stanza dello Scirocco* has the quiet compactness of an object that does not seek attention but receives it nonetheless - placed on a table, a sideboard, or the edge of a carefully organized desk. Mario Trimarchi is one of the most thoughtful designers on the contemporary Italian scene, capable of imbuing every project with a cultural depth rarely encountered in everyday objects. His collaboration with Alessi always moves along the line between anthropological storytelling and formal precision. *La Stanza dello Scirocco* belongs to the Alessi Palinsesto collection in the fall/winter season: an evocative, almost literary name that calls to mind the warm wind of the South, sunlit and shaded interiors, and a certain idea of the home as a place of profound identity. At Stilmobili, we chose this piece because it represents exactly what we look for when selecting a home accessory: an object that goes beyond its function. It is ideal for those who enjoy creating cohesive interiors, where even the smallest detail contributes to a broader aesthetic narrative. It naturally suits contemporary settings, while also engaging well with 1970s design and characterful domestic architecture. Project notes: steel with a matte black epoxy resin coating; dimensions 24.5 × 23.2 × 6.2 cm; weight 641 g. An almost square silhouette, with a compact depth - designed to collect, not contain.
