Alessi — MT01 W | La Stanza dello Scirocco, white Trimarchi wastebasket

There is something Mediterranean and suspended in the profile of this basket: a form that seems shaped by the warm wind of the South, like sand compacted into a stone inlet. Mario Trimarchi's La Stanza dello Scirocco is an object that inhabits the table with both discretion and character. The white epoxy resin-coated steel creates a matte, almost mineral surface that captures the light without reflecting it - a dense, tactile white, far removed from the coldness of polished stainless steel. Mario Trimarchi is among the most refined Italian designers of his generation: born in Palermo, his work constantly moves between the anthropology of the object and the poetics of form. With this basket - part of the AlessiPalinsesto collection in the autumn/winter season - Trimarchi translates the concept of tempered space into steel, that imaginary room in which the African wind brings slowness and suspension with it. The result is a container that tells more than it holds. At Stilmobili, we chose it because it embodies exactly what we look for in tableware objects: the ability to transform an everyday gesture - collecting keys, arranging fruit, sorting correspondence - into an aesthetic act. It is ideal for those who furnish with visual consistency, for those who love white not as an absence but as a precise choice, and for those who consider every surface an opportunity for composition. Project notes: dimensions 24.5 × 23.2 × 6.2 cm, steel with a white epoxy resin finish. A thin object in both the literal and figurative sense - six centimeters in height, enough to define a horizon on the surface.
