Alessi — Nuovo Milano 5180/16 | Sottsass 18/10 dessert fork

There is something profoundly Italian about the way a dessert fork can become a cultural gesture. Alessi's Nuovo Milano, made from superior-quality 18/10 stainless steel, brings to the table that subtle tension between function and beauty that belongs only to great designs. The handle offers itself to the hand with an almost obvious naturalness, as if no other shape could exist, while the polished metal reflects the light on the table with a discretion all its own. Ettore Sottsass - a defining figure in 20th-century Italian design, founder of the Memphis movement, and a curious, tireless intellectual - designed this flatware together with Alberto Gozzi in a creative dialogue that restores design dignity to everyday life. The Nuovo Milano collection was born from the ambition to offer a complete set capable of transcending eras without yielding to fashion, rooted in a classicism reinterpreted with a modern eye. Sottsass, who had made color and provocation his most celebrated vocabulary, chooses restraint here: clean lines, carefully studied proportions, an elegance that does not need to announce itself. At Stilmobili, we chose the Nuovo Milano set because we believe the table is as much a design space as a living room or kitchen. It is the ideal complement for those who build a home with aesthetic consistency, for those seeking objects with a story to tell guests without giving up the pleasure of everyday use. A choice for those who recognize the difference between an object and a piece of design. Project notes: 18/10 stainless steel dessert fork, 16 cm long.
