Alessi — Nuovo Milano 5180/4 | Sottsass dessert spoon

There is something inevitable about the shape of a spoon designed by Ettore Sottsass: a geometric certainty that never ceases to surprise. The 5180/4 from the Nuovo Milano set is an 18/10 stainless steel dessert spoon, polished with the quiet precision that transforms an everyday object into a small act of style. The handle - long, balanced, marked by a barely restrained formal tension - joins the bowl with a naturalness that the hand recognizes before the mind can process it. Seventeen and a half centimeters of steel that weigh almost nothing, yet leave an impression. Nuovo Milano was born from the collaboration between Ettore Sottsass and Alberto Gozzi for Alessi, during that fertile period when the Italian design factory was redefining the very meaning of the domestic object. Sottsass, a key figure in radical design and later postmodernism, brings to this cutlery set his characteristically oblique view of everyday life: not the decorative excess of Memphis, but a considered, almost classical restraint that nevertheless bears his unmistakable mark. Cutlery designed for those who know that the table is, above all, a composition. We chose it for Stilmobili because it perfectly embodies the boundary that belongs to us: the one between beauty and usefulness, between a collectible piece and an object used every day. The Nuovo Milano spoon is ideal for those who furnish the table as they furnish their home - with intention, history, and taste. It pairs naturally with formal and informal tableware, and is a refined gift for those who appreciate design without needing explanations. Project notes: 18/10 stainless steel. Length 17.60 cm.
