Alessi — Oaxaca MDL23 | Brown beechwood condiment set

There is something deeply domestic yet unexpected about the Oaxaca set: three mills - for salt, pepper, and spices - in beechwood stained a warm, dark brown, bringing the vibrant texture of natural material to the table. The shape is turned, generous, and almost archetypal in its simplicity. Holding them in your hand, they have just the right weight, the kind that brings satisfaction with every turn of the wrist. Wood, an ancient and ever-surprising material, engages with the contemporary table without feeling nostalgic: it is simply just right. The design is by Michele De Lucchi, a leading figure in Italian and international design, who was already a major contributor to the Memphis Movement before founding AMDL CIRCLE. For Alessi, De Lucchi brings a rare sensibility: that of someone who understands that an everyday object can - and must - tell a story. Oaxaca takes its name from the Mexican region renowned for deep culinary traditions, spices, and ceremonies centered around food. A tribute to the culture of seasoning as a cultural act, rather than a trivial functional gesture. We chose it for Stilmobili because Oaxaca belongs to that category of objects that change the tone of a table without raising their voice. It is the ideal gift for those who cook with care, for those who choose every detail of their home with intention. It fits naturally into warm, tactile interiors - wood, stone, linen - but also holds its own in more minimalist, contemporary settings, where it becomes a point of visual and tactile warmth.
