Alessi — Op-la JM12 BB | Black Jasper Morrison tray table

There is something disarming about Op-la's simplicity: a circular black ABS tabletop that lifts off, moves, and can be carried wherever needed. The colored steel base supports it with an almost graphic lightness, like a mark drawn in space. The 48-centimeter diameter offers exactly the right size — enough to hold things, never too large to be cumbersome. Function and form correspond without excess, without frills: simply the certainty of an object that knows exactly what it wants to be. Op-la was born from the mind of Jasper Morrison, one of the most influential British designers of his generation, known for the poetics of discretion that he himself dubbed "Super Normal" — the idea that the best objects are those that do not impose themselves, but simply are. His collaboration with Alessi gave Morrison fertile ground: the Crusinallo manufacturing facility, capable of translating design visions into industrially produced objects with artisanal rigor, welcomed this tray table into its catalog as an exercise in minimalist style that does not sacrifice warmth in use. At Stilmobili, we chose Op-la because it perfectly expresses what we believe in: design that improves everyday life without announcing itself. It is the ideal object for those who furnish with intention, for those looking for a versatile accent piece to place beside the sofa, use as a surface in the bedroom, or take out onto the terrace on spring evenings. The black color in the JM12 BB version fits naturally into both the most contemporary interiors and those with a warmer, more tactile character. Project notes: height 52 cm, tabletop diameter 48 cm.
