Alessi — Piana ASPN9001 | Chipperfield folding chair in white PP

There is a rare quality to Piana that goes beyond its function: the ability to seem necessary even when folded against a wall. Made of fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene, it comes in an absolute, tactile white that is never banal - rather, it is the white of architecture, the kind that contains light and gives back silence. Its flat surfaces, precise joints, and essential geometry governing every connection between seat, backrest, and legs: everything conveys a formal coherence that can be perceived by touch even before sight. Piana was born from the mind of David Chipperfield, one of the most rigorous and respected London architects of his generation, known for an approach to design that rejects gratuitous gestures in favor of structural clarity. His entry into the Alessi world brings with it the same intellectual tension that characterizes his buildings - from Berlin's Neue Nationalgalerie to the Church of San Michele in Venice. With Piana, Chipperfield translates his philosophy into a domestic object: form does not decorate, form is. At Stilmobili, we chose Piana because it answers a precise question: how do you add a chair to a space without compromising its harmony? It is the ideal companion to dining tables with a strong character, minimalist spaces that tolerate no compromises, and homes where every object must earn its place. Foldable and stackable, it is also designed for those who live in spaces that change purpose - and that still deserve solutions of the highest standard. Project notes: structure in polypropylene and fiberglass, glossy white finish. Dimensions: 52 × 46 × 90 cm. Net weight: 5.66 kg. Foldable and stackable. Alessi Palinsesto autumn/winter collection.
