Alessi — Plissé MDL06/1 GR | Green De Lucchi electric kettle

There is something almost sartorial about Alessi's Plissé. The pleated surface running across the body of the kettle is not simply an ornament: it is a texture that interacts with light, changing appearance depending on the time of day and the angle from which it is viewed. In the green chosen for this version — a rich, contemporary shade that evokes both nature and a certain idea of chromatic modernity — the Plissé becomes an object capable of redefining the aesthetics of the cooktop, transforming an everyday gesture such as preparing tea or coffee into a small visual ritual. The design bears the signature of Michele De Lucchi, a central figure in Italian design, among the founders of the Memphis movement and later a leading force in an ongoing exploration of the everyday object as a form of applied art. With the Plissé, De Lucchi takes a textile motif and translates it into thermoplastic resin with exemplary formal coherence: the pleating ensures structural rigidity, improves grip and — last but not least — gives the piece the sculptural quality that distinguishes great design objects from ordinary appliances. At Stilmobili, we chose the Plissé because it perfectly embodies our vision: design as a daily practice of beauty. It is conceived for those who furnish their kitchen with the same care given to the living room, for those who regard every object on the countertop as part of a composition. It is also an ideal choice as a high-end design gift, capable of surprising with its originality without sacrificing functionality. Project notes: 1-liter capacity, 2400W power, European plug. Compact dimensions — 21 × 16 × 20 cm — for a visual presence far greater than its footprint.
