Alessi — Plissé MDL06 MDL06/1BUS | Black De Lucchi electric kettle

There is something almost couture-like about the Plissé. The tightly pleated surface running across the kettle's body is not ornament for ornament's sake: it is structure, rhythm, the translation into thermoplastic resin of an ancient gesture - that of pleated fabric, of drapery that captures light and reflects it back multiplied. In the black version, the piece's character becomes even more pronounced, almost sculptural. The compact silhouette - 21 × 16 × 20 cm - occupies the worktop with a quiet, authoritative presence. Michele De Lucchi, one of the most recognizable voices in contemporary Italian design, created the Plissé as part of the great Alessi family dedicated to small kitchen appliances. De Lucchi brings to this project the same formal sensibility that has shaped decades of work across architecture, industrial design, and installations: the conviction that every everyday object deserves a form that tells a story, remaining memorable even after a thousand uses. The Plissé does not merely heat water - every morning, it reminds us that the most ordinary gesture can inhabit beauty. At Stilmobili, we chose the Plissé because it perfectly embodies the tension that defines us: the one between rigorous functionality and an indispensable aesthetic identity. It is the kettle for those who furnish their kitchen with the same care they use when choosing a sofa or a lamp - for those who refuse to let "service" objects fade into the background. Ideal for contemporary settings, lofts, open-plan kitchens, and also as a designer gift for someone who already has everything. Project notes: 1500W power, 1-liter capacity, black thermoplastic resin body. American plug (adapter required for use in Italy). Alessi collection, spring/summer lineup.
