Alessi — Plissé MDL06 MDL06/1RUK | Red resin electric kettle

There is something deeply theatrical about Michele De Lucchi's Plissé: that vertically striated surface, that bright red with nothing timid about it, that shape recalling - and not by chance - the regular folds of a precious fabric. Held in the hand or left on the worktop, this thermoplastic resin electric kettle transforms the everyday act of preparing tea or coffee into a moment of aesthetic awareness. The one-liter capacity, 2400 watts of power, and 360° rotating base are the rational side of an object that lives, above all, in the realm of beauty. Michele De Lucchi designed the Plissé in 2017, bringing into the domestic kitchen the same sensitivity with which he redesigned public spaces and architecture for decades. Among the leading figures of the Memphis Group in the 1980s and later founder of AMDL CIRCLE, De Lucchi has always cultivated the idea that everyday life deserves the same visionary rigor reserved for great works. The pleated motif - which gives the piece its name and identity - stems from a reflection on texture as a language: not an added ornament, but a structure that coincides with the form. We chose it for Stilmobili because it embodies, with rare consistency, the boundary between industrial design and an author-designed object. It is ideal for those who furnish the kitchen with the same care given to the living room, for those who consider setting the breakfast table a ritual rather than a routine. The bright red engages with white or black surfaces, asserts itself without shouting, and inevitably becomes the visual center of the countertop. Project notes: thermoplastic resin, red color. Power 2400W. Dimensions 21 × 16 × 20 cm. UK plug. End of series — limited availability.
