There is something deeply familiar about the shape of the Plissé, and yet every time you look at it, you discover a new detail. The black thermoplastic resin body is built around a pleated texture that runs across the surface like a tailored fold, transforming an everyday act - boiling water - into a small aesthetic ritual. The absolute black of the finish absorbs the kitchen light and returns a decisive, almost sculptural profile, with a quiet presence measuring 21 × 16 × 29 cm on the worktop. Michele De Lucchi, one of the most influential Italian architects and designers of his generation, created the Plissé with the stylistic signature that has always distinguished him: the ability to find poetry in elementary forms. De Lucchi - already a leading figure in the Memphis movement in the 1980s, later creative director of Olivetti and creator of architecture and objects for the world's most important design brands - translates a textile, almost couture-like geometry into the industrial material of the Plissé. The result is a kettle that does not look like a kettle: it looks like an object that has chosen to belong in the kitchen.
