Alessi — Plissé MDL08B MDL08B/USA | Thermoplastic resin toaster

There is something almost architectural about the Plissé. Its pleated surface - from which it takes its name - is not mere ornament: it is the gesture that transforms a kitchen appliance into an object to contemplate. The black thermoplastic resin absorbs light, lends depth, and that texture of regular folds evokes the rigor of a tailored fabric stretched over a precise form. On the kitchen counter, the Plissé does not hide: it takes a stand. Michele De Lucchi designed this toaster with the same design sensitivity that has shaped decades of Italian and international design - from the Memphis Group to major institutional commissions, with a constant reflection on the relationship between everyday form and human gesture. With the Plissé, De Lucchi brings a poetic quality usually associated with museum objects to a small appliance, without compromising its function: 850W of power, robust construction, and dimensions designed for a real countertop. At Stilmobili, we chose the Plissé because it embodies exactly the tension that interests us: the subtle boundary between a utensil and a domestic sculpture. It is the right piece for those who furnish the kitchen with the same care reserved for the living room, for those who consider the morning - the ritual of toast, coffee, and daylight - a moment worthy of a beautiful object. In the black version, it blends naturally into contemporary settings, from all-black kitchens to light marble countertops where the contrast becomes a signature style. Project notes: black thermoplastic resin, 850W, US plug (MDL08B/USA). Dimensions 34 × 19 × 19 cm. Designer Michele De Lucchi for Alessi, Palinsesto spring/summer collection.
