Alessi — Plissé MDL08BW B | Black brioche-warming rack by De Lucchi

There is something almost architectural about the way Plissé presents itself on the countertop. The brioche warming rack designed by Michele De Lucchi for Alessi carries a precise, almost austere geometry: the 18/10 stainless steel ribs are arranged like the folds of taut fabric, evoking the same idea of pleating from which it takes its name. The black thermoplastic resin gives the object a discreet, contemporary presence, able to engage with designer kitchens without giving in to decoration for its own sake. Michele De Lucchi is one of the most consistent voices in Italian design: architect, designer, and theorist, he has moved through different eras of design - from the radical Memphis of the 1980s to more mature reflections on the meaning of everyday objects. With Plissé, De Lucchi once again considers what an appliance can be beyond its function: not a utensil hidden away, but a visible companion in the morning, part of that slow breakfast ritual that deserves the same care given to display objects. At Stilmobili, we chose Plissé because it represents exactly what we are looking for: the ability to elevate an everyday gesture without emphasis. It is the perfect gift for those who live mindfully, for those who choose every object in their home as they would choose a garment - with attention to form, material, and meaning. Ideal for kitchens where design does not stop at the cabinets. Design notes: 18/10 stainless steel and black thermoplastic resin. Dimensions 26 × 10.5 × 5.5 cm. Alessi collection, autumn/winter lineup.
