Alessi — Plissé MDL08RADAZ | Steel and blue resin toaster tongs

There is something surprisingly elegant about the everyday gesture of removing a slice of toast. Alessi's Plissé tongs transform it into a moment of small formal pleasure: polished steel and cobalt blue thermoplastic resin come together in a tapered, almost sculptural silhouette, more than thirty centimeters long. The grip is secure, the weight is balanced, and that blue - intense, Mediterranean, bold - brings a color into the kitchen that does not apologize for existing. Plissé is a collection designed by Michele De Lucchi, one of the undisputed masters of contemporary Italian design, who was already a leading figure in the Memphis movement in the 1980s and later founded AMDL CIRCLE. With Alessi, De Lucchi explored the world of kitchen appliances with the same intellectual rigor he applies to architecture: each object in the series is conceived as a coherent system of forms and materials, where function is never separated from visual identity. The name Plissé evokes textile pleating, the regular rhythm of folds that structure the surface and make it recognizable to the touch even before it is seen. At Stilmobili, we chose this set of two tongs because it represents exactly what we look for: objects that inhabit the kitchen without blending in, declaring their presence discreetly but without shyness. They are ideal for those who consider domestic design an ongoing act and do not want even a functional accessory to betray that vision. Project notes: set of two units, stainless steel structure with a blue thermoplastic resin handle. Dimensions 31.5 × 4 × 19 cm. Weight 480 g. Alessi collection, designed by Michele De Lucchi.
