Alessi — Plissé MDL10 MDL10 B/UK | De Lucchi immersion blender

There is something unexpectedly sculptural about Michele De Lucchi's Plissé: an immersion blender that turns away from the logic of the appliance and embraces that of the thoughtfully designed object. Black thermoplastic resin envelops the body with an almost sartorial composure, while the name - Plissé, the fold of the fabric - reveals the formal inspiration: surfaces that seem folded, worked, alive. In the hand, it has the right weight, reassuring without causing fatigue. The graduated PCTG beaker completes the system with the same material coherence. Michele De Lucchi designed this piece with the discretion that distinguishes his most mature work. An architect and designer of rare versatility - from the Tolomeo lamps for Artemide to institutional furnishings and temporary architecture - De Lucchi applied to the Plissé his ability to find an opportunity for form in everyday life. The project was born from the collaboration with Alessi that produced some of the most original reinterpretations of kitchen appliances, objects that the Fabbrica dei sogni has always treated as potential domestic icons. We chose the Plissé because it tells a story that belongs to us: that of a kitchen in which every object is chosen with intention, where design is not an aesthetic surplus but a quality of use. It is the ideal blender for those who do not consider design and function separate categories - for those who cook attentively and want their tools to reflect that same care. Project notes: 500W of power, 34 cm height, 7 cm diameter. Graduated PCTG beaker included. Version with UK plug. Currently being discontinued - limited availability.
