Alessi — Plissé MDL13 MDL13 B/CH | De Lucchi induction milk frother

There is something deeply domestic yet refined about the gesture of preparing a cappuccino. Alessi's Plissé transforms it into a small visual ritual before it becomes a gustatory one. Its form is a dialogue between rigor and softness: the tightly pleated surface - from which it takes its name - runs across the black thermoplastic resin body with an almost textile rhythm, as if the design had sought to dress the technology rather than display it. The 18/10 stainless steel jug completes the composition with its polished, quiet presence, ready to receive the heat of induction and return it as froth. The Plissé was designed by Michele De Lucchi, one of the most influential architects and designers in the contemporary Italian scene, who was already a leading figure in the Memphis movement in the 1980s and later created projects for the major brands of European industry and cultural institutions. With Alessi, De Lucchi creates an object that does not give up the poetry of form even when its purpose is strictly functional: the cappuccino maker thus becomes a collectible piece that inhabits the countertop as naturally as a cherished object. We chose the Plissé because it perfectly embodies Stilmobili's vision: bringing into the home not only beautiful objects, but thoughtfully designed ones. It is ideal for those who want every corner of the kitchen to reflect authentic taste, who do not separate aesthetic pleasure from functionality, and who recognize design as a form of everyday care.
