Alessi — Plissé MDL15 B MDL15 B/UK | Black Michele De Lucchi toaster

There is something almost architectural about the Plissé. The surface of tight, regular pleats running across the black thermoplastic resin body is not merely an aesthetic choice: it is a design gesture that transforms an everyday appliance into an object to look at, one to keep on the countertop even when switched off. The proportions are bold, almost monumental for a toaster - 46.5 cm in length, accommodating two long slots capable of holding sliced bread, sliced baguettes, or brioche to warm on the upper 18/10 stainless steel rack. An object that does not hide. Michele De Lucchi designed the Plissé for Alessi, bringing with him decades of reflection on the relationship between industrial form and domestic life. One of the most influential designers and architects on the Italian scene, having already played a leading role in the Memphis Movement in the 1980s and later becoming one of the designers closest to Olivetti's poetic vision, De Lucchi transfers his idea of the everyday object as a bearer of meaning to the Plissé: something with a presence, a personality, and a story to tell, even in the silence of a kitchen. We chose it for Stilmobili because it is exactly the kind of piece we are looking for: an appliance that does not give up on design. It is ideal for those with a carefully designed kitchen, where every element has been chosen intentionally, and who do not accept compromises even when it comes to the toaster. The matte black finish makes it versatile with dark finishes, steel, and concrete, while also allowing it to create contrast in bright kitchens with a strong character. Project notes: 1700W power, dimensions 46.5 × 18.5 × 25 cm. Version with a British (UK) plug. The brioche-warming rack is made of 18/10 stainless steel with a thermoplastic resin structure and is removable. Part of the Alessi Palinsesto fall/winter collection.
