Alessi — Pulcina MDL02 MDL02/6RFM | Aluminum espresso coffee maker,

There is something alive about the Pulcina. Its curved spout, rounded body, and red knob standing out like a detail of character: this cast-aluminum espresso coffee maker does not merely prepare coffee, it tells its story. The shape evokes — without ever being literal — the silhouette of a little bird over the heat, while the red handle and knob in polyamide add a touch of color capable of brightening even the grayest morning. Its magnetic steel base makes it compatible with every type of cooktop, including induction, without sacrificing an aesthetic that challenges the rules of the most austere functionalism. Pulcina was created by Michele De Lucchi, one of the undisputed masters of contemporary Italian design, a central figure in the Memphis movement in the 1980s and later a leading voice in a design practice that has always placed the relationship between objects and everyday life at its center. With Alessi, De Lucchi created a piece that is both a tribute to the tradition of the Italian moka pot and a poetic reinterpretation of a familiar gesture. The project is rooted in a profound reflection on the form of the coffee maker as a domestic archetype — something every Italian recognizes at first glance, yet here is rediscovered as different, softer, and more affectionate. We chose the Pulcina because it embodies exactly what we look for when selecting an object for Stilmobili: the ability to be beautiful without apparent effort, useful without being banal. It is the ideal gift for those who love design but approach the kitchen with irony and warmth. It is the piece you place on the cooktop and never hide away in a drawer. Project notes: 30 cl capacity for 6 espresso cups. Includes accessory filter for American coffee. Dimensions 20 × 12 × 26 cm. Compatible with induction cooktops.
