Alessi — Santiago DC05/15 | Chipperfield cake server

There is something extraordinarily precise about the way the Santiago cake server fits into the ritual of cutting a cake. Made of 18/10 stainless steel, polished with artisan care, its shape reveals a rigorous yet warm design, in which the broad blade and the handle's proportions seem calibrated not only for function, but for the gesture itself. Holding it means perceiving the right weight, that quiet solidity that distinguishes a well-designed object from everything else. Santiago is designed by David Chipperfield, one of the most authoritative British architects on the international scene and the winner of the 2023 Pritzker Prize, known for a language that blends geometric rigor with material warmth. His collaboration with Alessi has produced a cutlery collection that brings to the table the same philosophy that has shaped his most celebrated buildings: formal clarity, the absence of superfluous ornamentation, and attention to surface quality as an expression of meaning. Santiago is the synthesis of this thinking applied to everyday life. At Stilmobili, we chose Santiago because it represents exactly what we look for when selecting an object for our range: not just a functional product, but a small act of design culture. It is ideal for those who want to complete a cutlery set with stylistic consistency, for those who give gifts with intention, and for those who believe that even dessert deserves the same attention devoted to the rest of the laid table. Project notes: length 25 cm, 18/10 stainless steel, part of the Santiago collection for Alessi. Available as a single piece, it naturally complements the other elements of the set.
