Alessi — Santiago DC05/3 GD | Gold-colored Chipperfield table knife

There is something ancient yet rigorously contemporary about David Chipperfield's Santiago for Alessi. The 18/10 stainless steel table knife with a gold finish carries the quiet weight of objects designed to last: it rests naturally and evenly in the hand, while its polished surface catches the light from the table and reflects it back with a warm, almost amber glow. The gold finish is not ornament for its own sake - it is a statement of intent, a way of declaring that the ritual of a meal deserves tools worthy of it. David Chipperfield, one of the most influential British architects of his generation and winner of the 2023 Pritzker Prize, brings to the Santiago project the same essential grammar that defines his buildings: clean volumes, considered proportions, and the absence of any redundancy. The Santiago collection stems from the conviction that cutlery should possess its own architectural dignity - not serve the table, but engage in dialogue with it. Each element of the set is designed to create a coherent whole, in which each individual piece gains meaning through its relationship with the others. We chose it for Stilmobili because it perfectly embodies that tension between function and beauty at the heart of our selection. Santiago GD is designed for those who set the table as they arrange a space: with intention, care, and aesthetic awareness. It is the right object for a home where design is not put on display but lived in, for those who see the gold detail not as ostentatious luxury but as a choice of quiet quality.
