Alessi — Sfrido VS02 | 18/10 stainless steel vegetable peeler

There is something radically honest about an object that does not try to hide its nature. Sfrido is a vegetable peeler — an everyday, domestic, silent tool — yet in the hand it reveals a tactile quality and formal purity that rescue it from the anonymity of the drawer. Made of polished 18/10 stainless steel, it catches the light with the same ease with which it glides over the skin of a carrot or zucchini, transforming a repeated gesture into something slightly more pleasant than expected. The design bears the signature of Valerio Sommella, an Italian designer capable of working on the everyday at a micro-scale with a sensitivity rarely found in ordinary objects. Included in the Alessi Palinsesto collection for the autumn/winter season, Sfrido is the result of that typically Alessi tension between industry and craftsmanship, serial production and attention to detail: a philosophy that for decades has transformed the kitchen into a space of material culture. We chose it for Stilmobili because we believe that quality should inhabit every corner of the home, even — and perhaps above all — those no guest will ever see. Sfrido is the right object for those who equip their kitchen with the same care they use when choosing a sofa or a lamp: people who do not separate aesthetics from function, and who find satisfaction in holding something well made. Project notes: 18/10 stainless steel with a polished finish. Compact dimensions — 6.5 × 6 × 3 cm — for a light weight of 111 grams. Ergonomically designed for everyday use. Dishwasher safe.
