Alessi — Spirale 7690/12 | Castiglioni steel ashtray

There is something hypnotic about the shape of the Spirale: a polished 18/10 stainless steel disc that coils in on itself with the silent grace of an unfinished gesture. Its twelve-centimeter diameter contains a universe of carefully studied proportions, where the mirrored surface reflects the surrounding light, transforming an everyday object into a small tabletop sculpture. The sheen of the metal is not decoration - it is substance, the very language through which the design communicates. Behind this piece are the hand and mind of Achille Castiglioni, one of the undisputed masters of twentieth-century Italian design. Castiglioni always believed that form should arise from careful observation of reality and human gestures, never from aesthetic arbitrariness. The Spirale is a precise testament to this: every curve serves a purpose, every centimeter of steel is exactly where it belongs. The design belongs to the historic Alessi collection, an expression of the philosophy of the "dream factory" that transforms ordinary objects into enduring emotional memories. At Stilmobili, we chose the Spirale because it embodies exactly what we seek when selecting a furnishing accessory: the ability to exist with both discretion and presence. It is the right object for those who do not distinguish between function and beauty - for those who inhabit a space consciously and know that even an ashtray deserves to be chosen with care. Ideal on a desk, a marble surface, or beside a sofa, the Spirale engages naturally with contemporary settings and more classic interiors alike. Design notes: polished 18/10 stainless steel, diameter 12 cm, height 4.5 cm. Weight 295 g. Alessi collection. Design by Achille Castiglioni.
