Alessi — Tonale DC03/5 LG | Grey stoneware dessert plate

There is a quiet quality to Tonale that reveals itself only to the touch. The Light Grey stoneware ceramic dessert plate carries the soft density of highly resistant terracotta, a surface that holds light without reflecting it, warming discreetly in your hands. The gray chosen by David Chipperfield is not a conventionally neutral color: it is a precise, mineral shade, able to engage with every color composition on the table without ever yielding to decoration for its own sake. Tonale was born from the collaboration between Alessi and David Chipperfield, one of the most influential British architects on the contemporary scene, known for a formal language that favors the essential without falling into austerity. Developed for the Crusinallo manufacturing facility, the project brings the same philosophy that guides his buildings into the world of tableware: calibrated proportions, absence of ornament, material presence. The result is a collection that behaves like architecture on a small scale - coherent, durable, and capable of standing the test of time. We chose it for Stilmobili because it perfectly represents that borderline between designer pieces and everyday objects, between collection and use, that feels most like us: The Tonale dessert plate is ideal for those creating a table setting with their own identity, those who prefer the substance of the material to the sheen of the surface, and those who recognize something profoundly domestic in the act of design. Project notes: stoneware ceramic, matte finish, 20 cm diameter, Light Grey color. Suitable for everyday use and more refined table settings.
