Alessi — Vimini BM21/25 B | Perforated black steel basket

There is something hypnotic about Vimini's perforated pattern: a steel grid that evokes the weave of handcrafted wicker, but reinterprets it with the industrial precision of a metal mold. The black epoxy resin is not simply a color; it is a statement - a declaration of unmediated elegance. With its 27-centimeter diameter and height of just 5.5 centimeters, the basket spreads across the surface like a decorative bas-relief, capable of holding fruit, correspondence, and everyday objects without ever relinquishing its formal identity. Behind the design are Simon Boucquillon and Moreno Maaoui, a creative duo who have made the tension between craftsmanship and serial production their chosen field. Vimini was created as part of the Alessi program, where Italian manufacturing tradition meets a contemporary design perspective. Translating a poor, ancient material like wicker into colored steel is a precise gesture: not nostalgia, but a dialogue between eras. At Stilmobili, we chose Vimini because it embodies exactly what we look for in the objects we select: the ability to exist in everyday life with discretion while maintaining an unmistakable presence. It is the ideal object for those who furnish thoughtfully, who seek a centerpiece that does not shout yet does not go unnoticed. Perfect in a designer kitchen, on a minimalist dining table, or as a compositional element on a sideboard. Project notes: perforated steel with a black epoxy resin finish, diameter 27 cm, height 5.5 cm. Alessi autumn/winter collection. Code BM21/25 B.
