Alessi — Vimini BM21/25 | Perforated stainless steel basket

There is something deeply contradictory — and therefore fascinating — about Alessi's Vimini: a basket that evokes organic matter, the vegetal texture of woven wicker, and yet is forged from 18/10 stainless steel, cold and precise as a theorem. The perforated pattern running across its surface creates a play of voids and solids, filtered light and cast shadows, transforming an everyday object into a small exercise in style. With its 27-centimeter diameter and a height of just 5.5 centimeters, it rests on any surface with the discretion of one who has nothing to prove. Behind the design are Boucquillon & Maaoui, a creative duo who have distilled into this circular form an ancient dialogue between craftsmanship and industry. Their research often focuses on the boundary between sensory memory and contemporary production: the very name — Vimini — is a declaration of intent, a tribute to the Mediterranean basket-making tradition reinterpreted through the metallurgical language that has been a defining hallmark of Alessi manufacturing for decades. At Stilmobili, we chose Vimini because it embodies with rare consistency what we seek in every piece: function and beauty that nourish each other without either one overshadowing the other. It is a centerpiece for those who love fruit but do not want to sacrifice aesthetics, a bread basket for the designer table, an accessory capable of bringing together a contemporary kitchen and a Nordic living room. Ideal as a gift for those who live consciously. Design notes: 18/10 stainless steel, diameter 27 cm, height 5.5 cm. Dishwasher safe. Alessi collection, autumn/winter season.
