Alessi — Wowl BM13/21 B | Designer dog bowl in resin and steel

There is something unexpectedly poetic about rethinking such an everyday object as a dog bowl through the lens of industrial design. Wowl has a compact, enveloping form, made of black thermoplastic resin with an 18/10 stainless steel insert: two materials that interact in a clean, solid geometry that is unmistakably Alessi. The matte black surface contrasts with the cool sheen of the steel, creating a small showpiece capable of holding its own in even the most carefully curated living room. The design bears the signature of Michel Boucquillon, a Franco-Belgian designer known for his ability to work at the boundary between extreme functionality and formal tension. In his approach, even the most domestic accessory becomes an opportunity to reflect on the relationship between form, use, and context. Wowl was created as part of Alessi’s Pet Accessories line - one of the Fabbrica dei Sogni’s most surprising forays into the world of companion animals, where the catalogue is enriched with objects designed as much for those who use them as for those who look at them. We chose it for Stilmobili because we believe that good design has no thresholds: there is no point beyond which the pursuit of beauty ceases to make sense. For those who have already attended to every detail of their home - from accessories to seating - leaving the dog’s bowl outside the scope of attention would be a small inconsistency. Wowl is for those who would not accept that. Project notes: dimensions 21.2 × 20.6 × 13.2 cm; weight 690 g; black thermoplastic resin and 18/10 stainless steel.
