Flou Iko - Simplicity as a Form of Luxury
There are beds that occupy a room and beds that define it. Iko belongs to the second category: its presence is discreet, never silent, capable of shaping the space around it through the purity of its lines and the quiet quality of its materials.
The Iko Design
Designed by Rodolfo Dordoni in 2015 for Flou, Iko stems from a reflection on the value of simplicity as a conscious choice, not as an absence. The disassemblable iron structure with a matte burnished finish establishes the formal character - solid, essential, and unpretentious - while the details in polished gold or polished black nickel introduce a precious tension between raw material and refinement. The leather headboard brings this interplay together: a soft, tactile surface that contrasts with the geometry of the iron, available in a wide range of colors spanning natural to moka, black to bulgaro, tobacco to sand, mud to hazelnut, dove gray to ash, and putty. Each combination gives the same object a different character, adapting equally well to contemporary interiors and warmer, more layered settings.
