Flou — Machard | Contromano Studio Design Outdoor Table
AVAILABLE TO ORDER
Flou Machard - Sculpture Floating in Outdoor Space
A table that defies gravity through the elegance of its proportions. Machard is the result of rigorous research into perceptual lightness: the hourglass-shaped steel base expands and contracts, while the weave of taut cords creates a visual effect that suspends the tabletop between sky and earth. A design work that transforms outdoor space into a place of contemplation.
The Machard Project
In 2025, Studio Contromano created a table that synthesizes contemporary research into habitable sculpture. The steel hourglass-shaped base is wrapped in cords in gray, mélange, mud, green, and red, woven according to a geometric pattern that alternates rays pointing upward and downward. The round tabletop is available in transparent, smoked, or bronze-tinted glass; marble in the following finishes: polished natural Bianco di Carrara, natural Verde Lepanto, polished natural Calacatta oro, honed Impero Romano; or natural iroko wood with slats that evoke the tradition of outdoor furniture. Each combination of cords and tabletop creates a unique aesthetic dialogue.
