Flou — Merkurio | Dordoni Design Bed

Flou Merkurio - Rest as a Form of Balance

Some beds are barely noticed when you enter a room, while others quietly redefine it. Merkurio belongs to the second category: its fully upholstered design - base and headboard wrapped in the same softness - creates a cohesive, contained volume that can become the gravitational center of the bedroom without ever imposing itself through formal excess.

The Merkurio Design

Designed by Rodolfo Dordoni in 2010 for Flou, Merkurio was born from the meeting of Italy's great upholstered furniture tradition and a contemporary vision of the bedroom. Dordoni chooses restraint as his language: no superfluous decoration, only the quality of the upholstery speaks. The result is a bed that adapts to very different settings - from minimalist spaces to warmer, more layered interiors - while always maintaining a discreet yet defined presence. The craftsmanship that characterizes Flou's production can be seen in the detail of the paired upholstery, which amplifies the sensation of softness to the touch and the eye.

Merkurio is available in three base configurations: fixed at a height of 25 cm, with storage for those who want additional wardrobe space, or with an electric mechanism for maximum practicality. The upholstery - fabric or leather, selectable from the entire Flou collection - is completely removable in every version, ensuring easy maintenance over time.
