Flou Tadao - Where Structure Becomes Visual Poetry
Tadao redefines the grammar of the bed: what is normally hidden beneath the mattress emerges, rises, and becomes a language. The supporting slats are no longer a technical detail concealed from view, but the element that generates the entire form - from the base to the headboard, in one continuous, uninterrupted gesture.
The Tadao Design
Designed by Vico Magistretti in 1993, Tadao was born from a radically simple intuition: to make visible what is usually kept hidden. The slats supporting the mattress rise seamlessly to form the headboard, transforming function into form. The inspiration is Oriental - essential, measured, and free from unnecessary ornament - but the result is an object capable of engaging with contemporary, classic, or minimalist interiors. Tadao does not occupy space: it brings order to it.
