Villa d'Este Home Tivoli — "Le Travisate" Chickpea Jar — A Play on Words on Your Shelf

There is something disarming about an object that makes you smile before you even open it. The Chickpea jar from the Le Travisate collection brings that rare lightness into the kitchen: a saying deliberately misheard and carefully distorted, left on the worktop for someone to notice, correct, and then be unable to stop repeating. Read it, read it again, smile — it is written exactly that way, like instructions for use.

Why we chose it for you

Villa d'Este Home Tivoli built the Le Travisate collection around a simple, clever idea: transforming sayings into reasons to laugh. The Chickpea jar is its most everyday example — a pantry container made of new bone china with a glossy finish, aquamarine and beige lettering, and that galvanised closure that adds a tactile touch to the irony. It is an object that engages with the person using it rather than simply sitting still on the shelf.
